ASA Events

ASA Events Sponsored by STA

From its inception, the Society for Technology in Anesthesia has played an active role at the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). The STA initiated a tradition of hosting a dinner on Saturday evening to which STA members and guests are invited. The Ty Smith Lecture follows the dinner; topics have ranged from the aircraft cockpit to the submarine conning tower.

Each year the Technology Breakfast Panel is organized by the STA under the auspices of the ASA. It starts at 7:00 am and lasts for an hour and a quarter. Before this panel starts, the STA presents their annual technology research and application awards. The ASA Events Committee is responsible for selecting and inviting the speakers for both the Saturday Dinner and the Technology Breakfast Panel.
